Nosakhari Film Festival 2024: Celebrating Storytelling and Craft at London Fashion Week

Under the vibrant energy of London Fashion Week, the Nosakhari Film Festival returned for its second edition, celebrating the intersection of storytelling and fashion. Held at the iconic Rich Mix Cinema in Shoreditch, the festival captivated audiences with its exploration of transformation through the theme of “Becoming.”

The festival opened with an intimate showcase of Nosakhari’s renowned craftsmanship, offering an exclusive glimpse into the artistry behind the brand. Guests were immersed in the creative process and invited to view the finished products that embody the brand’s dedication to excellence.

Following this, attendees embarked on a 50-minute cinematic journey that spotlighted seven extraordinary short films, all curated to reflect the theme of “Becoming” and ignite conversations about personal and cultural transformation. Featured filmmakers included Vincent Bossel, JIJO, Sam Brewster, Akwasi Poku, Nneka Egara, Peter Famosa, and Runyararo Mapfumo, each offering unique perspectives on storytelling as a tool for positive change.

The highlight of the evening was the premiere of “Becoming,” an animated film chronicling the life of Nosakhari’s Creative Director, tracing his path from growing up in Benin Kingdom to establishing Nosakhari London.

A panel discussion, led by acclaimed Director and Producer Ade O Adesina, followed the film screenings. The conversation provided a deep dive into the creative journeys of the filmmakers and the challenges they have faced in the industry.

Returning to host the event was Andre Spence, a social entrepreneur, author, and mentor, who charmed the audience throughout the night.
